M. Lissette Flores
M. Lissette Flores has been a marketing communications practitioner for more
than 15 years, specializing in Hispanic, multicultural and international
marketing communications. She founded estrella pr + marketing in 2002.
Lissette has developed and implemented strategic marketing communications
and public relations programs for The Disneyland Resort, DIRECTV Para Todos,
DIRECTV's Spanish-language programming service, and McDonald's Corporation.
She also co-developed the Hispanic marketing communications division of Hill
and Knowlton, Inc.
As a Marketing Manager for DIRECTV, Lissette developed
first-of-their-kind marketing campaigns targeting local, regional and
national Hispanic consumer markets. She oversaw the day-to-day marketing
initiatives and strategies, conceived campaigns, created third-party
marketing proposals and served as the primary contact with external
marketing partners. She also oversaw local, regional and national marketing
communications activities.
Prior to DIRECTV, Lissette held the position of manager,
multicultural and international publicity, The Disneyland Resort. In this
position, she developed and oversaw the day-to-day marketing communication
initiatives and strategies, and created and executed all Disneyland
publicity campaigns for international and multicultural markets - Hispanic,
Asian and African American - in the United States.
At Valencia, Perez & Echeveste in Pasadena, CA, Lissette served as
an account manager to McDonald's, the largest account at the agency. She
oversaw the day-to-day management and strategic planning of public
relations/marketing activities for the McDonald's Corporation's national
Hispanic consumer market.
Lissette also worked at Hill and Knowlton, Inc., Los Angeles. At
Hill and Knowlton, she oversaw Hispanic marketing communications, and
contributed to new business development efforts. She worked on several
accounts, including The California Office of Traffic Safety, where she
served as a campaign spokesperson and managed the grassroots community
elements such as the advisory board, media relations and marketing
communications. She also developed Hispanic public relations campaigns for
Pepsi West, Kraft Foods, Mazda Motor of America and Spiegel.
She currently serves as an Hispanic Public Relations Association
Board Member, Corazones Unidos / American Heart Association (LA) Committee
Member, and St. Barnabas School Board Member, and has participated in the
following organizations: Hispanic Public Relations Association (1995-96
president), California Chicano News Media Association, National Association
of Hispanic Journalists and Public Relations Society of America. Lissette
is the recipient of the Public Relations Society of America's Trevett Award
bestowed to the outstanding public relations professional from the Los
Angeles area.
Lissette has completed the Masters coursework in Spanish
Literature and Linguistics, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an
emphasis in Public Relations, minors in marketing and Spanish, California
State University, Long Beach.
She is of Guatemalan descent and is bilingual. She and her
husband reside in Long Beach, CA..
